During his time in office Kerry was committed to his constituents. His Constituent Outreach Program using a mobile office, Facebook posts on how he voted on Bills before him and reasons why, as well as instituting quality control measures to ensure constituents received a response from his office in two weeks or less earned him two top awards for constituent services.

Congressman Bentivolio passed 3 pieces of legislation with 100% bi-partisan support while maintaining his Conservative values. His “Safe and Secure Federal Websites Act” had more co-sponsors (126) than any other GOP freshman member of Congress. That fact alone proves Bentivolio has the capability to find common ground with all members of Congress regardless of their political leaning.
Congressman Bentivolio was the only member of Congress to have served in both Vietnam and Iraq.

Bentivolio scored “A” ratings from Manufacturers Associations and the US Chamber of Commerce. Bentivolio returned his Chamber of Commerce Award after learning the Chamber supported Amnesty for Illegal Aliens and they promptly endorsed his primary opponent.
Bentivolio was endorsed by Right to Life, the NRA (with an “A” rating) and Gun Owners of America.
In the 2014 Primary, Bentivolio’s opponent spent a total of $2.4 million to unseat the incumbent Bentivolio or $600.00 per vote receiving slightly more than 40,000 votes. Bentivolio spent less than $120,000 or $6.00 per vote and received slightly more than 20,000 votes. “Bentivolio’s voters were well educated informed voters. Bentivolio is a 27 year highly decorated Army and part-time National Guardsman veteran with service in Vietnam and Iraq in the combat arms. He was employed as a certified and licensed private and public school teacher in secondary education, has a M. Ed and B.A., A. A. with 5 undergraduate majors. He has a School and State teacher rating of “highly qualified.” He lives in Milford, Michigan. He owned and operated a successful part-time business, the “Old Fashion Santa & Company” using live trained reindeer to pull a sleigh on wheels in more than 1000 holiday events over a 20-year period. Prior to becoming a teacher, he worked as an automotive designer for Ford and General Motors.
He has been married to his wife Karen, an RN, for 40 years and has 2 children and 4 grandchildren.
